Celebrity couples who might tie the knot in 2016

Relationships, Celebrity, News

The private lives of celebrities aren’t really private at all. Who among us can resist news of their engagements, marriages, baby bumps, and the goofy baby names they choose for their offspring? We are a third of the way into 2016, and there’s been a dearth of celebrity weddings to this point. However, with the spring-summer wedding season now descending upon us, let’s take a look at some of the famous couples we may see walking down the aisle this year.

Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart

J. Lo has enjoyed a public on-again/off-again love affair with former backup dancer Casper Smart. The pair met in late 2011, broke up in 2014, and reconciled in mid-2015. Jennifer, 46, has been married three times. If she weds 29-year-old Casper (whose real name is Beau), he’ll become stepdad to 8-year-old twins. (Lopez and ex-husband Marc Anthony share custody of the children.) We’re predicting the former American Idol judge demands a prenup before taking the plunge a fourth time — she’s worth an estimated $322 million.

Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney

Since getting engaged on Valentine’s Day 2015, long-time couple Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney were rumored to have already gotten married in a secret ceremony in March, but subsequent reports indicate the couple still hasn’t actually said “I do,” or set a firm date. The singer met her actor beau in Nebraska in July 2011, while working on the music video for “You and I.” This will be the first marriage for both. And like Lopez, Lady Gaga should opt for a prenuptial agreement: her $320 net worth trumps Kinney’s $2 million.

Emmy Rossum and Sam Esmail

Shameless star Emmy Rossum, 28, and writer/director Sam Esmail, 37, dated for about two years before announcing their engagement. The couple has worked together professionally—he directed her in his 2014 romantic dramedy Comet—and will finally make it permanent personally as well. Rossum has one short marriage already under her belt (she was married to music exec Justin Siegel for fewer than three years). Esmail, an NYU grad of Egyptian descent, has never been married.

Eniko Parrish and Kevin Hart

Is Eniko Parrish a gold digger? Kevin Hart doesn’t think so, but he and his fiancée have signed a prenup anyway. The comedian, who has two children with ex-wife Torrei Hart, proposed to the fashion model in August 2014 and plans to marry her this coming August. Hart says Parrish loved him before he became rich and famous. His main concern? Being a better husband than he was the first time around. “At that age, 22, I wasn’t ready to be married,” he said. “I didn’t understand what it was. I’m 36 now. I got a good woman. She’s 30 about to be 31. What else am I looking for? What else is out there?”

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jason Statham

She may be 20 years his junior, but model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley can’t wait to wed 48-year-old actor Jason Statham. They’ve been dating since 2010, when Rosie was a mere 23-year-old, and they’re still going strong. If the engagement ring is any indication — the bride-to-be is sporting a $350,000 Neil Lane diamond — the wedding will be out of this world!

Who keeps the ring when an engagement is broken?

Zoe Kazan and Paul Dano

The talented actors (Zoe also writes screenplays) have been dating for seven years. Isn’t it time this adorable couple made it legal? They’re only in their early 30s, so we’ll try to be patient. Meanwhile…

Kirsten Dunst and Garrett Hedlund

On the Road co-stars Kirsten Dunst and Garrett Hedlund were together for four years. We were preparing to hear them announce their engagement, but instead they’ve announced their split. Dunst is left pining for a baby, and Hedlund is ready to move on. Prior to meeting her long-time beau, the Fargo actress was treated for depression. Here’s hoping that she will overcome this breakup as well as she did her mental health struggles.

Jaimie Alexander and Peter Facinelli

Actor couple Jaimie Alexander and Peter Facinelli recently ended their engagement. The Blindspot star claims she’s simply “too busy” to make wedding plans. The former Twilight star, meanwhile, is busy co-parenting three with ex-wife Jennie Garth, who converted to Catholicism to marry Facinelli in 2001.
