Avvo Announces New Q&A Forum Features and Social Network Sharing

Innovations Help Lawyers More Efficiently Market Themselves Online, Connect with Others in Their Network and Share Updates via Facebook and Twitter

Seattle, Wash — Avvo, Inc. (www.avvo.com), the world’s largest online ratings directory for lawyers and doctors, announced today new innovative features that enable lawyers to more quickly and efficiently connect with potential clients and maximize the impact of their online interactions.

  • Social Media Integration: When lawyers answer a question, write a guide, or endorse a peer on Avvo, they now have the option to share their contribution on Facebook or Twitter as soon as it posts on Avvo.In addition, lawyers can share when someone else leaves them an endorsement or a positive client review on Avvo; or when their Avvo rating increases.
  • Question & Answer interaction through email: Lawyers participating in Avvo’s Q&A forum – that receives more than 50,000 monthly contributions and a 97% response rate – can sign up for new question notifications via email; to be received in real time or via a daily digest. Lawyers can also answer questions directly through email (rather than logging into their Avvo account).
  • Answer Voting: Avvo users (lawyers and consumers) can vote up or vote down on answers in the Q&A forum. In addition, users can add comments on individual answers, thus providing another mechanism for conversation to occur.
  • Auto Disclaimers: Lawyers who want to include a disclaimer in their answers can now select the auto disclaimer feature. As a result their customized disclaimer will appear at the end of every question they answer in Avvo’s Q&A forum.

This month Avvo is also launching a new feature where lawyers will automatically receive suggestions of who to connect with based on information in the Avvo profiles that indicate lawyers know each other. Lawyers will specifically be prompted to invite connections to claim their Avvo profiles, if they have not yet done so.  They will also be encouraged to endorse these colleagues and peers.

“Since our launch in 2007, we have been the vanguard in innovatively marrying the legal profession and Internet. These new features help lawyers stay ahead of the curve and generate more business – all for free.  It’s what we have been about since the beginning,” said Mark Britton, founder and CEO of Avvo.
